Hello! My name is Pedro Lucas and I’m going to talk about a few facts about some sports.

1-Basketball

      It’s a game that was created in 1891 by James Naismit, a Canadian Physical Education’s teacher. It’s played by two teams with 10 players (Five playing and Five as surrogates) that have the objective of get the higher number of points, by throwing the Ball into the basket.  

2- Volleyball

     
      It’s a Sport played in a court divided in two parts by a volleyball net. There are two teams with six players on each side. The modality’s objective is making the ball pass above the net and touch the floor of the other team, at the same time the players try to avoid that the other team do the same thing. The first team which marks three sets, win the game.

3-Handball

      Handball is a Sport that was origined in Germany in the 19th Century. Although it has been played at first by only women and outside of a court, nowadays it’s played by both men and women and in open and covered courts.

4-Soccer

  It’s a Sport played between two teams including 11 players each one and an arbiter. It’s considered the most popular Sport in the whole world, because more than 270 millions of people participate in its many competitions. The modern game was created in England with the origin of the Football Association, which the rules made in 1863 are the base os the Sport nowadays. The main soccer’s organ is the Fédération Internationale de Football Association, aka FIFA. The main international soccer competition is the FIFA World Cup, that happens every four years.
